A must have collectible for any fan of DAVID LETTERMAN and the tumultuous late night TV Show wars. From the estate of the film's Key Grip comes this original script to the production based on the book by Bill Carter. Film chronicles the late night television conflict between David Letterman and Jay Leno in the early 1990s. Story details the true story surrounding NBC's controversial appointment of Leno to succeed Johnny Carson as host of the Tonight Show and Letterman's efforts to negotiate out of his contract to host his own competing talk show on CBS. Script is the original revised draft by uncredited screenwriter Dan Tapiltz (screen credit only went to George Armitage and Bill Carter). Revised Script is dated July 10 1995. Film was released by HBO on Feb. 24, 1996. Fully complete Script is in very good to excellent condition. Original light green cover has some creasing and age wear along with a sticker noting this as the property of the film's Key Grip. Script is held together by the two original brass clasps. Back page shows some light age wear. All 131 interior pages are on light green paper, free of any rips, tears, creases, stains or writing. To make this is the ultimate Dave collectible we are adding in anoriginal unused LATE SHOW pencil and original LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN swizzle stick (likely from the show's trip to Las Vegas), both from the collection of a long time Letterman staffer.
